SCBA
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus was designed to be worn in environments where there is little or no oxygen or unsafe levels of toxic gas or gases.
SCBA is used around the world by Civil, Airport, Industrial, Marine, Offshore and Utilities organisations for fire fighting and rescue.
The modern SCBA set is designed to offer the user comfort, manoeuvrability and is made from lighter weight materials to help reduce stress and fatigue when the Fire fighter is carrying out their duties.
There are a variety of manufacturers of SCBA such as MSA, Drager, Scott, and Interspiro offering good quality sets like the Airmaxx, BD96, PA91, PA94, Sabre Contour and the Spiromatic S4.
The set will consist of a back plate, full face mask, demand valve, pressure gauge and cylinder.
The cylinder can be made from steel or composite materials and is available in a variety of sizes dependant upon application and duration required. Cylinders are available in 200 and 300bar.
